Community Energy Conference _6 September introduction-1Join us from 4:30pm at the Linklater Pavillion in Lewes.

This is the flagship event for the South East and forms part of Community Energy Fortnight, supported by Forum for the Future, the Co-operatives Group and the Sussex Energy Saving Partnership.
The event is hosted by OVESCo and will launch Community Energy South an umbrella community energy support group that reaches across Sussex, of which BHESCo is a member.
The main conference is aimed at local authority, ward councils, parish councils and emerging groups.

From 4.30pm the event will be open to the public and hosted by Michaela Strachen and Cooperatives UK. This will feature a series of interesting talks on community energy initiatives and is sure to inspire and kick-start lots of action within our communities.  Community energy day showcases the work of community energy groups throughout Sussex, exploring planning policy around solar, community energy and community ownership.

Ecotricity UrbineEcotricity is in the final testing stages of producing a new verticle axis wind turbine design that they claim may be 40% more efficient than similar sized microturbines on the market.  This is good news for windy communities like Brighton & Hove where smaller turbines could meet local planning requirements.  The Urbine is 15 meters tall, 6kW output turbine.  BHESCo works with British manufacturers, assessing the economic attractiveness of micro-generation technologies to help people become more energy independent.  We are a community energy supplier that people can trust to help them lower their energy bills.  BHESCo guarantees the output for the customer by acting as a middleman between the manufacturer and the customer.
