Boulder Brighton is an exciting indoor bouldering centre just 5 minutes’ walk from Portslade train station on the Victoria Road Trading Estate.
One of BHESCo’s volunteers goes climbing at the centre every week, and noted that the lights are in constant use nearly every day of the year.
We approached Boulder Brighton to find out if they would be interested in replacing their lights with energy saving LEDs. We explained that this would not only save the centre huge amounts of money on their energy bill every year, but would also greatly reduce their carbon emissions.
Following a lighting survey by our partner Lightfoot LED, BHESCO project managed the installation of 31 new LED bulbs which Boulder Brighton paid for upfront.
For an initial outlay of £1,891, we estimate the climbing centre to save roughly £1,573 on their energy bill every year for the lifetime of the bulbs.
(which we expect to be a minumum of 10 years, making savings of at least £15,730!)
