PROJECT:

The Spice Shop

The Spice Shop is a world famous shop in Brighton’s North Laines, specialising in the best and freshest herbs and spices from international producers.

The shop suffered from very cold conditions in the winter months, and the existing heating sytem was expensive to run yet highly inefficient.

BHESCo was approached to find a long-term solution to improving the warmth and comfort of the shop, which would be affordable and provide good value-for-money.

Following a survey of the premises, BHESCo produced a detailed energy plan for The Spice Shop, recommending the installation of an infrared heater which would be suspended from the ceiling above the till.

Neo Electrical Solutons were chosen to undertake the installation, which was completed at a cost of £360.

To offset the cost of the new heating system, BHESCo suggested relacing the existing lighting system with energy saving LEDs, which we expect to save the shop £130 per year on energy bills.

After six years, the new heating and lighting systems will have paid for themselves, and the Spice Shop (and their customers) will be able to enjoy much warmer conditions in winter.
