Since our earliest days our work here at BHESCo has been powered by the enthusiasm and commitment of a dedicated team of volunteers.
We have a variety of roles available to put your unique skills to good use, whether that’s in data analysis, data management, web-analytics, content and media creation, event co-ordination, public engagement or whatever it is that you enjoy doing.
If you are motivated by a concern about climate change and want to make a meaningful contribution to the community of Brighton and Hove then you won’t do much better than by volunteering for BHESCo.
Many thanks for your interest in joining the community energy revolution.
We are currently working on an exciting project to provide an East Sussex village with renewably-sourced heat which will significantly reduce their carbon emissions and we’re looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help us with the data entry for this project.
Can you spare up to 3 days a week between now and Christmas? The job will involve taking the data and measurements which have been collected onsite by our surveyors and inputting the information into our computer system so that we can perform our analysis.
Our ideal candidate will start asap and will be able to give up to 3 full days per week. We work standard office hours and can be flexible to suit your other commitments.
“Being a part of BHESCo and the broader community-energy movement is a radical act, the full impact of which we have yet to fully comprehend.”
“Small cooperatives with genuinely innovative solutions and business structures have the potential to alter energy consumption on a wide scale. BHESCo provides an inspirational service to the local community and simultaneously benefits the planet as a whole. Although my volunteering plays a tiny part, it is fantastic to be involved in this enthusiastic and dedicated team who are achieving groundbreaking work.”
“Working with BHESCo during my summer vacation was the best volunteer experience so far. I can learn environmental justice, policy and management at UC Berkeley, but the best way to understand the actual process of reducing local greenhouse gas was to work for BHESCo. Surrounded by passionate and hard-working BHESCo members truly inspired me and made me think about what I’m going to do in the future to preserve Earth’s natural resources.”
“ I definitely have you all to thank for providing me such a rich and interesting learning experience to feed into it.”
Please tell us why you want to become a volunteer, what it is that you would be interested in doing and what skills you can bring and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
