Grants and finance for commercial clean energy improvements
Grants and finance for commercial renewable and energy efficiency projects
There are a variety of incentives, grants and funding options available to support your organisation with its decarbonisation goals. In many instances our team can support your applications and signpost you to appropriate schemes.
For current funding cycles and available financial support please see below.
Rampion Community Benefit Fund
The Rampion Fund provides grants for supporting projects that benefit local communities in the Sussex area including those with links to the environment and ecology, climate change and energy.
At BHESCo we have worked with a number of organisations who have been able to access the Rampion Fund to secure funding for an initial energy survey.
The window for 2025 grant applications has now closed. A new funding window is expected to open in 2026.
VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme
This funding has been available to voluntary, community or social enterprise organisations.
Applications for an independent energy assessment closed in June 2024
The Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF)
The IETF funding supports industrial sites in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to cut their energy bills and decarbonise their industrial processes through investing in energy efficiency and deep decarbonisation technologies.
The third round of funding closed in 2025. No future funding rounds have been announced.
Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund
Available to local authorities and social housing landlords, the current Wave 3 of funding is now open.
BHESCo's community energy 'Pay As You Save' financing
If your organisation is not eligible for grant funding, or if grant funding cannot cover the full cost of your desired energy saving/ energy generating technologies, then you may wish to consider BHESCo’s ‘Pay As You Save’ finance initiative.
Our network of community investors will fund the installation of energy saving/ energy generating measures on your behalf, meaning you pay nothing upfront.
This initial expense is then paid back over an agreed number of years using a portion of the savings achieved from your monthly energy bills.
In this way, customers see savings immediately and everyone is able to take part in the journey towards a low-carbon future, free from the restriction of burdensome upfront costs.
Make a Capital Allowance claim on your energy upgrades with our partners EMW STax
Brighton & Hove Energy Services Co-op (BHESCo) have partnered with leading tax consultancy EMW STax to bring even greater financial benefits to our energy project customers.
STax specialise in helping commercial property owners maximise their capital tax allowance tax relief. In the last decade, they have unlocked £550 million of savings on behalf of customers, and now the are making their expertise available to BHESCo clients.
Together, we are offering businesses in Sussex an opportunity to secure huge savings on energy costs, reduce their tax liability, lower their impact the environment, all for no upfront cost.
