What's it like to work for BHESCo?

"“When I express my enjoyment of my job to others, I'm often met with surprise. It has become commonplace for people to feel trapped in mundane jobs solely for financial gain. Personally, I find fulfilment in dedicating my energy into constructive tasks that have the potential to bring about positive social and environmental change.”

Since our earliest days our work here at BHESCo has been powered by the enthusiasm and commitment of a dedicated team of volunteers.

We have a variety of roles available to put your unique skills to good use, whether that’s in data analysis, data management, web-analytics, content and media creation, event co-ordination, public engagement or whatever it is that you enjoy doing.

If you are motivated by a concern about climate change and want to  make a meaningful contribution to the community of Brighton and Hove then you won’t do much better than by volunteering for BHESCo.

Many thanks for your interest in joining the community energy revolution.

What's is like being a BHESCO volunteer?

“Being a part of BHESCo and the broader community-energy movement is a radical act, the full impact of which we have yet to fully comprehend.”

Rob

“Small cooperatives with genuinely innovative solutions and business structures have the potential to alter energy consumption on a wide scale. BHESCo provides an inspirational service to the local community and simultaneously benefits the planet as a whole. Although my volunteering plays a tiny part, it is fantastic to be involved in this enthusiastic and dedicated team who are achieving groundbreaking work.”

Eva

“Working with BHESCo during my summer vacation was the best volunteer experience so far. I can learn environmental justice, policy and management at UC Berkeley, but the best way to understand the actual process of reducing local greenhouse gas was to work for BHESCo. Surrounded by passionate and hard-working BHESCo members truly inspired me and made me think about what I’m going to do in the future to preserve Earth’s natural resources.”

Jaden

“ I definitely have you all to thank for providing me such a rich and interesting learning experience to feed into it.”

Susan

Please tell us why you want to become a volunteer, what it is that you would be interested in doing and what skills you can bring and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
