On 7th April 2022 the UK announced a new Energy Security Strategy in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the urgent need to end imports of Russian oil and gas. Unfortunately, the strategy missed a great opportunity to reinvigorate the UK energy efficiency sector, instead choosing to direct billions of taxpayer funds towards expensive hi-tech options such as nuclear power.
